Shannon the Basset Hound (Basil's buddy)

Shannon is very lazy and a normal walk from the car to the beach (approx 500 meters) is enough exercise for her. But to her defense, it is very hot in South Africa so I don't blame her for being tired after a short walk. I normally douse her with water and take her onto the shore where the waves are and this normally perks her up.
She loves her food and will challenge anybody for theirs too. She does have a soft spot for her buddy Basil. They are normally snuggled up together in the evenings and she snores loudly showing her content! Shannon was rescued last year and we took her in from a wonderful rescue group called "CHARM". She was rather skinny and timid but has definitely come out of her shell. We are very blessed to have her in our extended family, and all her furry buddies love her to death. We have 3 dachshunds along with the 2 Bassets.
