Thanks for these articles we've been working on some of these already. Meemo is responding quite well to some of these boundaries.

Thanks for the update. I love the photo. Meemo is really cute! Love the eyes and ears.

Here are a few articles that I found on introducing your dog to your baby:

Introduce Your Dog to Your Baby

New Baby and the Family Dog

My husband brought home one of the swaddling blankets (before my daughter and I came home from the hospital) so that Hunter could smell the scent. It's mentioned in the first article listed above and is a common tip.

You'll be busy when the baby comes home. But, I think it's important to keep your dog's routine as normal as possible. For example, keep walking him and giving him attention. If you find that you're too busy or tired, it's OK to ask for help. When my daughter was born, we received lots of offers from relatives to help out.

I liked to get out after my daughter was born and walking the dog was a great way to get out and get some exercise. After a while, I would take her with me (first in the baby carriage and then in the stroller as she got older). He was good at walking by my side so it wasn't a hassle to take both of them.

As far as feeling left out - my daughter is 6 years old now and I think at times my dog still feels left out. He still wants to be right there and be part of every activity.
