Minnie the Basset Hound has Passed Away

Minnie the Basset Hound served as the mascot at the Marion County Humane Society located in Ocala, Florida.

Minnie's previous owners abandoned her and left her to die from starvation. She was in dire need when a neighbor found her. The Humane Society nursed her back to good health. But soon after she recovered, the veterinarians that were caring for her discovered that she had cancer.

She died peacefully on Father's Day 2008.
