We adopted Dee Dee and Dexter on the 27th of October 2011, from someone who was moving to a smaller premises.

Having been kept as outside dogs, they were in urgent need of a bath, and a decent meal, which also seems to have been missing from there daily lives. In the 4 days that we have had them, they have fitted into our family perfectly. (Family is 3 boxers, 2 bull-terriers and another basset) They have figured out what toys are, and Dee Dee has found her voice, which she uses extensively.

From what I could figure out from the previous "owners", they were going to be used for breeding, but they were too much of a hassle to look after, as I was asked to please let them know if they have puppies, as they want one. Did I mention that these 2 are brother and sister, from the same litter, and 7 months old.... Some people....

These 2 are super sweet, and totally squeezable.

Angie... I agree. There really are many, many awesome dogs and cats in need of good homes. No way these people should be breeding.

Bassets

What a large pack you have? I cannot believe that people are still wanting to breed dogs and cats. there are so many homeless dogs & cats out there that so desperately need homes, people should be adopting rather than breeding. In south africa we have a HUGE problem with unwanted dogs & cats and all our shelters are FULL to the brim. Its very sad when they have to euthanise animals because there arent enough homes out there. In south Africa 4,000 000 dogs/cats are euthanised each year....its all very sad :-(

But on the bright side, very happy that you have taken in these 2 gorgeous bassets. may your extended family have many happy years together.
