There was an elderly gentleman who lived on my street. He was in poor health confined to a wheelchair blind. My basset hound Leo would go to his house. His wife would let him in. He would set next to the mans' chair so the man could pet him for hours.

for the love of Bassitts

that is just why I love Bassett Hounds...they are like ZEN with heightened senses. We got Louie at 8 years estimated. His toe nails were wrapped around his feet, it took a couple of month of walking, every other week tail trim, he finally would start to trot... what remarkable about his is I have low blood sugar drops and I have dropped to 20 level (100-120 is normal) He would know my drops were coming before I crashed...One time I passed out and he would stop barking and running to the door where the kids were.....I he is 13 now and he moans and cry's......Its not uncommon for me to lay with him or give a nightly massage, and monthly bath and ear cleaning. We do the homemade diet and homemade cookies...He is a lot of worm...but the gift of patience, love and being int the moment has made me a better person. Louie I believe was sent to use by angles...
