Daisy May

by Katie
(West Yorkshire)

Daisy May lives with me and her best friend Pepper (an Irish water Spaniel) in West Yorkshire, England. She is nearly 2 years old and is still a giddy kipper and has a mad hour at least once a day when she runs around tugging on Pepper's ears! Daisy likes to talk to herself a lot so it's always noisy in our house and she will eat almost anything! Again like most bassets if you have food in your hand or her favourite teddy then she will do whatever you say, but without it she pretends that she cannot hear you! Daisy is very shy with new people but is definitely not shy once you get to know her! A very very well loved basset!

Thank you NEW
by: Nancy

On the 5th of June 2014, just 22 days shy of her 13th birthday, I had to put my beloved Lady Freckle Face (aka Freckles) down because she had developed seizure disorder that was worsening. Your beautiful photo of Daisy May brought back sweet memories of my girl, who looked so much like yours. Thank you for a lovely blessing.

Basset walk
by: Vanessa

Hi, what a sight that must be, 100 bassets all together, maybe that would encourage Charlie to walk! I'm hoping once he is fully grown he will want to walk much more. I will email you and then you can let me know when the next walk is and hopefully we will be able to make it, we are in South Yorkshire. Thanks a lot.

Vanessa - Walking!
by: Katie

Hi Vanessa,
Daisy likes walking and the only time she will sit down and refuse point back to move is if it looks like you are not going towards her favourite walk.
As we live in the countryside we usually walk her to a path surrounded by fields and let her off the lead (she is good off the lead as long as there no chickens near)!! If you dont walk towards where she is let off then she knows and refuses to walk until you turn around and walk her there.
Daisy is very active but if its raining she tends to slow down or refuses to go outside, I think she is so active as she is always trying to keep up with Pepper. We do have the opposite problem with her though and she wont let other people stroke her when walking, she will hide behind me instead and when she was a puppy she used to role over in a submissive position if anyone walked near her luckily this stopped but she loves other dogs!
Daisy runs the house but I have never had such an affectionate dog!
There is a basset walk (100 bassets)!in the Yorkshire area every few months, last time it was near Skipton, if you would like more details please feel free to email me on katie.elizabeth@hotmail.co.uk

Katie (& obviously Daisy-May) x

Beautiful
by: Vanessa

Daisy May is gorgeous, she looks so peaceful and content! Thanks for your lovely comments about Charlie too. How is she at going for a walk, because Charlie is not that interested so far, he sits or lays down every few minutes, especially if someone walks past without saying hello to him!
