Bruno. Glad i found him.

(El paso)

I adopted my boy Bruno from the Humane Society here in El Paso, Tx. It was his last day to get adopted before being euthanized, so I didn't have a choice but to take him in. :P

Bruno is my first basset hound, (I couldn't imagine him being my last), and he wasn't what I was expecting. I've read all over the internet that Basset Hounds are ornery drool factories with a will of their own. To my surprise, he has been nothing but obedient with me. I hardly ever see him sleep he is so energetic! We go on weekly hikes up the mountain and walk every day. He currently resides with me on Ft. Bliss, TX and works for me as my service dog, (He LOVES to work).

He is a constant morale boost for me and the other soldiers in my unit. Every day with this dog at my side is a blessing.

Comments for Bruno. Glad i found him.

Bruno is wonderful!
by: Happy's Mum

Thank you for saving Bruno's life. Bassett Hounds are wonderful, loving and fun dogs. I hope you both spend many happy and wonderful years together.

Seven months ago I adopted an abandoned Bassett Hound and named her Happy. She lived up to her name, was happy and brought a lot of happiness into my life. Unfortunately she passed away this afternoon. My baby girl was sick for a week, then had surgery but never fully recovered. I will miss her dearly.

I am so happy you found Bruno! He looks like a lovely handsome hound. Im so glad you saved his life. I cant seem to understand why no one wanted to adopt him! Or any basset for that matter. I adopted a basset as well.( he is also my first basset) Bassets are so loyal and loving and i will definitely adopt another in the future. Glad you found Bruno :) Great story.

He's beautiful...
by: Virginia from just-basset-hounds

So glad you were able to save him!

My Basset, Hunter, doesn't drool that much either... Usually on hot days when he's out for a walk. He'll have multiple strands hanging from his mouth. Then he'll shake his head and it all gets wrapped around his nose (LOL). He likes long walks too.

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!

I got my basset Cooper from the shelter and I have such a wonderful boy even though he's 13 now he's full of energy. How old is Bruno? I can't believe they were going to put such a beautiful dog down.

I am so happy for you and Bruno :-) Bassets are just love machines......I have 1 male (Basil) and 1 female (Shannon) and they are just so energetic and are always clowning around and making me laugh. I think they are the funniest looking dogs and they have personalities to match. Enjoy your time with Bruno.
